Thanks for your posting! I just posted an article about the catechumenate under “articles.” You might want to check it out. The person in the catechumenate is called a “catechumen”, which just means “student”.

I would like to share something just a little different-but the same. Years ago I was mad at the Church. My husband was not about to change denominations, I knew we should be together, so I prayed about it. I was using a daily Scripture study/reflection publication. It was Catholic, but used Books or themes of the Bible for each month. I got the idea that if I changed and used a publication that used the Church’s daily readings, there might be some healing in it. And there was. Praise be to God!!

I have heard about a new Rite in the Church, but not if it has actually begun. The Anglican Rite, much like the Eastern Rites, with their liturgies and allegiance under the Pope. Do you know anything about that?
Also, one of the sponsors of the last LCFC was the Episcopal Diocese. My hubby and I wondered about that. Is it part of the mentioned “new Rite”? If not, should we have them as a sponsor with their present stands?
I am sorry for the pain and grieving you must be going through. You have been a gift to us.

Just read today that there is a law suit to remove the cross at the site of 9-11. The atheists claim it makes them ill. I wasn’t sure I could believe the email story–until now.

Interesting. Is it cat-e-chu-ma-nate? The person in the process is cat-e-chu-man?
Is the name for the process that children go through also catechumanate?
It is only 1 syllable more than RCIA. With practice, it may roll of our tongues as smoothly.
